PRAYER

When someone asks for prayer IT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION and we sure don't need to KNOW FOR WHAT OR WHY. God knows why. Just uplift that person. Ya know, we can even pray for the small things. It does not need be a life and death situation. Only busybodies and gossips need all the details. The Bible says "Pray One For Another". Simple, just pray for them. Life is hard sometimes and people have bad days. Simply lift them up to God -inspire, encourage, uplift and love. Prayer works, even when you don't know why!

At Evident Church, part of our mission is to heal, and empower, men and women that struggle with addiction (99% of us have an addiction). Our community believes that in every mistake, there is potential for healing. Nothing a person can do will close the door forever with God and with a loving and forgiving community- even if that person feels beyond  redemption , is put back in prison, or cannot find sobriety in this life. Our practice is simple: take a step back, apologize, make amends, learn something new, and move on. Once, a women relapsed after she had been working with Pastor Gregg for more than a year. I believe great churches are built by broken people, ministering to other broken people. Brokenness is a willingness to abandon our pride, our pretensions, and our self-righteous posturing. And it is the prerequisite to God’s blessing on our lives and our congregations. Jesus said,  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”  (Matthew 5:3 NIV).
