Faith

Is My Faith Being Tested? Trials and tribulations test our faith. It’s easy to have faith when situations are comfortable but when challenges come…that’s when faith shows itself strong. “You’re facing a challenge that requires sacrifice.” Demonstrating faith requires a sacrifice. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac it required him to commit to what God was asking but to exercise faith along the journey. In this way God tests the heart to see if we are truly walking by faith or not. “Wrestling fear of the unknown.” God doesn’t always give us a play-by-play when He asks something of us. In most cases we have little to no information on what’s ahead. Forging ahead in faith, even in the midst of uncertainty, pleases God. “Tempted to go ‘back to Egypt’” This references the syndrome that the Israelites had once they were finally delivered from slavery in Egypt. When The Lord began to lead them into the wilderness, instead of relying on His providence and...

12 Bible Characters Who Did Great Things for God in Their Old Age David Sanford Crosswalk.com Contributing Writer Early in our marriage, Renée and I invested a lot of time with women and men in their 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. One of our dear friends lived to be 101. Another lived to be 106. These two (and many others) showed us how to enjoy life to the full until the very end. Over the past four decades, Renée and I have actively sought to model our lives after theirs…and after the lives of their favorite Bible characters. So, who were their favorite Bible characters? We’ll begin with Adam, Enoch, and Noah…and end with Simeon, Anna, and John. Photo Credit: ©GettyImages/monkeybusinessimages 1. Adam Enjoyed a Lifetime Loving Eve and Loving the Lord Adam lived to be 930 years old ( Genesis 5:5 ). Over the next nine generations, only three of his descendants lived longer: Enoch’s father Jared (962), Enoch’s son Methuselah (969), and Methuselah’s g...

Here's the deal. You may not like me and that is okay. However, you had better love me. I will speak the Truth. I'll be blunt and to the point. Guess what, Christ was! And I'm working to become more like Him. If you're looking for someone to hold your hand and say "It will be okay. You go right ahead and keep falling, keep using, etc. Then I'm not your guy". I will ALWAYS speak the TRUTH, and sometimes it hurts, but TRUTH is Truth and a LIE is a LIE. You can't do both. I WILL NOT be ashamed of the Gospel or of anything from God. I will ALWAYS share the Truth, with BOLDNESS, with Bluntness, and yes I'm very OPINIONATED, but hopefully you'll see my love and heart through all I say and/or what I do. Guess what, if I were just passive with you and keep silent -then I don't really care. Guess what, I DO CARE and I don't want to hear about anyone going to hell because they weren't running the race (1 Corinthians 9). We are talking abou...

POWER

You of Little Faith! Pastor Gregg Crisp November 20, 2017 When I turn on a light switch I expect a light to come on. Right! I also know that the sun will rise every day. I may not see it, especially in Wyoming with the snow blowing sideward, but I know the sun is there. There is light even if I don’t see the source. So, do I just simply believe that a light will turn on or that the sun will rise? Or do I act on more than simple belief when I turn on that switch? I also have faith, right. I can believe all I want that a light will turn on when I hit that switch, but if I don’t actually hit the switch then I’ll remain in the dark. I need to engage the power before I get any light and drown out the darkness. The same is true with the Word of God. I can say I Believe in it all day. I can even read it and know it like the backside of my hand. But it does me little good unless I act upon it. It does me little good to simply believe it. I must take that Step of...
