GIVING

For Christians, the decision to give is not primarily financial in nature. It’s rooted in 1) the nature of God and 2) our relationship with Him. John 3:16 tells us that “God so loved the world that He gave …” This declaration isn’t simply an evangelical promotional slogan or an effective witnessing tool. It’s a revelation of the heart of God and a summation of the meaning of the Christian life. If there’s one thing the New Testament teaches us, it’s that God is love, and that those of us who claim to believe in Him ought to love one another as He has loved us (1 John 4:8, 11). And the message of John 3:16 is that love gives. This, then, is the theological or spiritual basis for Christian giving. But how does it work itself out in the context of everyday life? On the practical level, we give because we know something. In Christ, we have realized three inescapable truths: 1) we belong to God; 2) we have received much; and 3) money matters. Let’s take a closer look at each of these impo

NEW WORLD ORDER

ONE WORLD ORDER Only a few will understand and agree with this message......this letter was written for you. This message is a warning that the prophesied end times has begun with insight to recognize the devious deceptions of our enemy! Do you recognize the prophecy that is being played out on the one world stage? The entire world is a clueless pawn in this diabolical scheme of the Deceiver as he paves the way for the Antichrist to begins his rule of the one world order. I say the world is clueless because the dozens of primary countries that could offer resistance to this soon coming takeover are taken by surprise and without any plausible recourse on how to prevent it because they are inadvertently bringing it all to pass. This flu scare that Satan has put into the minds of the worlds Heads of State beginning in China is all about establishing power control over the masses through fear and panic. And oh how easy it was to bring the world to its knees with the threat of death. There

Addiction

Saying that addiction is a disease is a copout and a huge way to excuse, justify, our addictions. It is blaming. It's not my "fault". Well, Yes it is your fault. You have a choice. And it is okay. The first step is to admit, acknowledge! Then you deal with the WHY! What are the UNDERLYING issues, that you are avoiding by using and staying stuck in your addiction? I've been there, done that. Now I'm not! But I had to trust God and deal with my underlying issues. Freedom comes when we are honest with ourselves, God, and others. We can experience New Life. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

CHRISTmas

Christmas has become way too commercial, retail orientated, money originated, lie orientated, etc. Santa may have been a nice story once. But that's all it is -a story -a lie. I'd be judged harshly by God, as a pastor, if I did not, do not share truth with you. Santa is a made up character -Serious? Flying reindeer, going down chimney's, etc. Santa, sorry, is fake! My bible say's "Do Not Lie". Santa is the world. Do not teach your kids it is okay to lie -ever, even for a good reason. Santa is mans holiday. My holiday: The Celebration of Christ's birth! Christmas can still be fun for kids, families, etc. Even more so when TRUTH is shared. We give to share and show our love to others, yes, absolutely! But our main reason for giving should be in remembrance of what Christ did -He Gave It All -Period! Hang and display lights -because they are pretty, yes! But to CELEBRATE CHRIST AND HIS BIRTH! EvidentChurch will not and does not celebrate Christmas as the wor

Marijuana and the Christian

Marijuana and the Christian Whether or not I have ever been “high” (and, yes, I have), is irrelevant to the question of whether or not Christians should use marijuana for recreational purposes. That being said, let us get started. 1. Medicinal marijuana should be allowed under a physician's guidance. I am not anything remotely close to being an expert on the question of whether or not marijuana should be made legal and available for use in cases of extreme medical distress. But I will give you my opinion. My humble opinion is that a good case can be made for allowing marijuana use in certain instances. I do not know the criteria one would employ to make the determination as to when marijuana should be used and when not. But it seems reasonable to me, and not at all unbiblical, that if marijuana can be used in some form and under the oversight of a physician to help those in extreme pain or those for whom all other medical remedies have proven ineffective, it should be allowed. Marriage

What Is the Purpose of Covenant Marriage in the Bible? Jason Soroski jasonsoroski.wordpress.com 2020 13 Nov For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish...  We have heard these words repeated in many wedding ceremonies, and if you are married you have likely said them yourself! What does it mean to be in a covenant  marriage , and how does it enrich our lives and fulfill God’s purpose? Throughout history, there have been different cultural definitions of what constitutes a marriage. Yet, at the heart of biblical marriage is a covenant before God to cherish one another and continue to grow as one. At the heart of a covenant marriage is a desire to not just ‘get through’ life together but to thrive together. It means to love, encourage, and cherish one another while constantly seeking Christ in our relationship. The first mention of marriage in Scripture is in the Garden of Eden, recorded in  Genesis 2:24 : “ That is why a man leaves

10 Things Christians Forget When They Leave Church Sunday Morning

10 Things Christians Forget When They Leave Church Sunday Morning Christianity has run into a problem. We have gotten into the habit of putting our spiritual lives into a box labeled “Sunday Mornings Only!” that gets put back on the shelf the second we get home from church. But we are not supposed to compartmentalize our lives into two different categories, “Jesus” and “Everything Else in Life.” Instead our relationship with Jesus should be the storage unit that holds everything else in place. Paul reminds us of this in Colossians 1:9-10 when he says, “We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way.” Notice how Paul’s prayer isn’t to live only Sundays that worthy of the Lord. That’d be too easy! Instead, we need to live all seven days with the patience, love, and joy that we do on Sundays. So, without further ado, here is my list

"If you take Romans 13 (and other scriptures) in Context: God did NOT choose Joe Biden. MAN choose Joe Biden (and will suffer the consequences of that choice.) God established 'AUTHORITIES" the office, the entities, etc. Not always a specific man. Man was given freedom to choose his leaders -God never forces compliance. Rather than God's leadership MAN sought a KING. So God gave man a king and said to follow his authority. 1 Samuel 12:11-13 Here's the good thing though, despite man's horrible choices, all through scripture, it can be seen, that GOD will bring GOOD from ALL -even man's most horrible choices. Allow God to move for GOOD. So, I put my Final TRUST in God. I will trust my leaders. But my FINAL TRUST shall be in God." Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -Pastor Gregg

10 Misunderstood Verses from the Bible:

10 Misunderstood Verses from the Bible: The Bible is the most important book ever written. The one true God chose to reveal Himself to us through the written word. Amazing and humbling! Yet sometimes we get it wrong. We misunderstand or misapply the truth God has given us. Although there are countless causes, through my experience I have seen two primary problems crop up again and again. Perspective - Too often we read God’s Word with our own purposes and goals in mind. But the Bible is all about God. When we read it with His eternal purposes in mind, we will better grasp the truth of His Word. Context – The Bible may have unlimited applications, but its meaning never changes. It means the same today as it did when it was written. To understand the original meaning, we must pull back and understand the context – of the passage, of the chapter, of the book. Here are 10 verses that are often misunderstood due to perspective, context, or both: 1. 1 Corinthians 10:1 “No temptation has over

MUSIC

What Does the Bible Say About Music and What We Should Listen To? Sarah E Martin Friday, September 4, 2020 “The music of the Gospel leads us home.” - Frederick W. Faber Music as an art form has always connected deeply with people of all cultures and languages throughout human history. Making melodies with voices and instruments has been a key part of the expression of man’s experiences. When words fail us, and the circumstances of our physical lives confine us, music is an outlet for the hopes and dreams, passions and desires, the tension and confusion, and even the transformation taking place within us. Music connects with us on a level nothing else does, and for that reason, people have always recognized a divine power and spirituality to music. Yet no matter how societies around the world relate to music, God’s people should realize they have a special claim on the art of song. The power of great music lies in the power of the gospel story, of God calling his people home. As a  Go
