Tongues

1 Corinthians 14:23 If, therefore, the whole church assembles together and all are speaking in tongues and people who are outsiders or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
Speaking in tongues does not confirm you are saved or even that you have the Holy Spirit.
Firstly, you are saved through Christ and your actions will show that.
Secondly, we all have the Holy Spirit after we are saved. Christ said, "I will send you a helper" What's the greatest help? "A changed heart".
Thirdly, speaking in Tongues, according to Paul, is the least gift to be desired.
Fourthly, speaking in tongues is during a private prayer time for you and God.
Evident Church will not encourage speaking in tongues during any of its regular church services. However, with that said, we will not limit the Holy Spirit either.
Do we believe in the gift of tongues? Absolutely we do. However, we do not believe everyone receives that gift.
A church that speaks in tongues can be very edifying for that body, but to an unbeliever it can cause confusion, fear, and even doubt.
I know people that Do or Don't have that gift and they are still spirit-filled either way.
