Unjustified Anger

Unjustified Anger Aggressive sinful anger is an out of control response to emotional impulses that are often fueled by wounds from our past and motivated by retaliation. Assertive righteous anger is a controlled anger initiated by a mental response to a godly impulse and motivated by the conviction of the Holy Ghost to educate for the purpose of repentance through rebuke. A great deal of our aggressive anger stems from feelings that we are being victimized. Bottom line is yes, we are victims; but here is the reality that should help dissolve our anger into self remorse (not to be confused with self pity) because this is a remorse for what and who we really are and hopefully would lead us into a repentance resulting in a humility toward men and a meekness toward God. The reality that makes our aggressive anger unjustified is that we are victims of our own selves and little happens to us that we do not deserve and even less happens to us that we are not fully responsible for, leaving no ...

Intro to my book

Introduction Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. You cannot twist scripture to fit you. Rather, you twist, change, you to fit Scripture. Now, please do not misunderstand, that is not to say that we cannot stand upon a certain verse and make it our own personal verse. And for our life, that most definitely can be a good thing when are applying it correctly. John 10:10 is a verse I stand on and apply to my life quite often. What I am saying is that we need to conform ourselves, our situation, to scripture. Then apply it to our lives. We would also do well to see the whole context in which it was written. Who was it written too? What is the Greek or Hebrew meaning of certain words? Is it figurative or literal? Is it a promise for all people past/present/future or ...

Conforming?

America's Morals and Ethic's... Ever wonder why our country is so far from God? Here is a clue... Rather than supporting and subscribing to services like PureFlex, people choose to subscribe to and watch ungodly crap like Netflix, Google TV, or cable. Crap-in and crap-out. A true statement! Do you not know that when you subscribe to things such as Netflix, you are in essence supporting sin. You are participating with them. Your money pays for their programming. No wonder our youth think that Violence, Sex apart of marriage, Drugs, and drunkenness' are okay -that is what they see and get from TV. Crap-in, crap out. Minds are being destroyed and Satin is laughing. As a personal choice and conviction I do Not/will never have subscriptions such as Netflix or Cable. I have PureFlex and I love it. Entertaining and godly and good enough for me. An example and my conviction! Ephesians 5:11 Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; Proverbs 4...

Matthew 7:1 in Context

Matthew 7:1 Out of Context: In the society we live in, people disagree over minor inconsistencies and then pull out this Scripture to note that they can do whatever they want when they desire, and no one should judge them. But shouting "Only God can judge me" is not holy, nor should it be used as a cop-out excuse to justify a misconstrued biblical theology. "Judge not, that you be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1) In Context: In Matthew 7, Matthew writes a summary statement asking people to refrain from judging others around them without grave error or cause. Here, Biblical insights from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount deals with a call for righteousness over the Pharisees' intellectual decisions. While the Pharisees were preoccupied with the Law, they missed the Law standing in front of them, asking them to place away trivial affairs, and focus on what matters eternally (a relationship with Jesus!). With these commands, Jesus wanted to get to the heart of an individual...

TO JUDGE

“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said. Luke 7:43 It is okay to judge others, behaviors, characters, etc. Just use the "Non-punishing" type of judgement. Evaluate and come to a conclusion = Folks that equals judgement. And guess what, you, we, do it every day. Judge is not a bad word (except for those that don't want to be held personally accountable). Throughout the bible we are told to "Judge people, things, issues, etc. To prove whether they are good or not. How can I "Sharpen You" (Proverbs) unless I have reached a conclusion (judge) of your behavior?

Church

We do not Conform to the world! The Church does not Conform to the world. I conform to God, His Word, and the church. The world Conforms to God, His Word, and the Church. It is not the other way around The Church does not conform to the world. A church is not meant to be a “feel good” place. A church needs to bring conviction, growth, and change. A church is a hospital for the righteous not a social club for the world. By all means come as you are, lost, sick, hurt, broken, We will accept and love you as you are, However, leave new, changed, No longer conformed to the world, Rather, conformed to God. Of course a church wants you to feel safe, happy, accepted and welcome, So we’ll provide coffee, water, maybe a snack, But we’ll not conform to your ways, participate in your ways, or promote them. People expect a church to be a church, A place of Transformation and growth –through new life in Christ. My Bible tells me... Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forev...

Choice

It is your choice as to whether your thoughts will be constructive or destructive, positive, or negative. The bottom line is that we all have choice. We may not fully like the consequence of our choice, but we have a choice. Unless someone is holding a gun to our head (and even then, we have a choice) no one can make us do anything. Unless we relinquish all power to another person or thing (and even that is a personal choice) no one has the power to control how you react, your attitude, your response. You are 100% responsible for your attitude, behaviors, actions, and the consequences of said choice. Others may greatly influence you. But no one can force compliance on you or your choice. Only you can and do make the decision to follow, agree, and comply. Also, only you can choose to go your own way. It is easy to blame others for our choices, but bottom line, at the end of the day, only we, ourselves bear responsibility and personal accountability. God, nor any other man or woman ca...

GIVING

For Christians, the decision to give is not primarily financial in nature. It’s rooted in 1) the nature of God and 2) our relationship with Him. John 3:16 tells us that “God so loved the world that He gave …” This declaration isn’t simply an evangelical promotional slogan or an effective witnessing tool. It’s a revelation of the heart of God and a summation of the meaning of the Christian life. If there’s one thing the New Testament teaches us, it’s that God is love, and that those of us who claim to believe in Him ought to love one another as He has loved us (1 John 4:8, 11). And the message of John 3:16 is that love gives. This, then, is the theological or spiritual basis for Christian giving. But how does it work itself out in the context of everyday life? On the practical level, we give because we know something. In Christ, we have realized three inescapable truths: 1) we belong to God; 2) we have received much; and 3) money matters. Let’s take a closer look at each of these impo...

NEW WORLD ORDER

ONE WORLD ORDER Only a few will understand and agree with this message......this letter was written for you. This message is a warning that the prophesied end times has begun with insight to recognize the devious deceptions of our enemy! Do you recognize the prophecy that is being played out on the one world stage? The entire world is a clueless pawn in this diabolical scheme of the Deceiver as he paves the way for the Antichrist to begins his rule of the one world order. I say the world is clueless because the dozens of primary countries that could offer resistance to this soon coming takeover are taken by surprise and without any plausible recourse on how to prevent it because they are inadvertently bringing it all to pass. This flu scare that Satan has put into the minds of the worlds Heads of State beginning in China is all about establishing power control over the masses through fear and panic. And oh how easy it was to bring the world to its knees with the threat of death. There ...

Addiction

Saying that addiction is a disease is a copout and a huge way to excuse, justify, our addictions. It is blaming. It's not my "fault". Well, Yes it is your fault. You have a choice. And it is okay. The first step is to admit, acknowledge! Then you deal with the WHY! What are the UNDERLYING issues, that you are avoiding by using and staying stuck in your addiction? I've been there, done that. Now I'm not! But I had to trust God and deal with my underlying issues. Freedom comes when we are honest with ourselves, God, and others. We can experience New Life. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

CHRISTmas

Christmas has become way too commercial, retail orientated, money originated, lie orientated, etc. Santa may have been a nice story once. But that's all it is -a story -a lie. I'd be judged harshly by God, as a pastor, if I did not, do not share truth with you. Santa is a made up character -Serious? Flying reindeer, going down chimney's, etc. Santa, sorry, is fake! My bible say's "Do Not Lie". Santa is the world. Do not teach your kids it is okay to lie -ever, even for a good reason. Santa is mans holiday. My holiday: The Celebration of Christ's birth! Christmas can still be fun for kids, families, etc. Even more so when TRUTH is shared. We give to share and show our love to others, yes, absolutely! But our main reason for giving should be in remembrance of what Christ did -He Gave It All -Period! Hang and display lights -because they are pretty, yes! But to CELEBRATE CHRIST AND HIS BIRTH! EvidentChurch will not and does not celebrate Christmas as the wor...

Marijuana and the Christian

Marijuana and the Christian Whether or not I have ever been “high” (and, yes, I have), is irrelevant to the question of whether or not Christians should use marijuana for recreational purposes. That being said, let us get started. 1. Medicinal marijuana should be allowed under a physician's guidance. I am not anything remotely close to being an expert on the question of whether or not marijuana should be made legal and available for use in cases of extreme medical distress. But I will give you my opinion. My humble opinion is that a good case can be made for allowing marijuana use in certain instances. I do not know the criteria one would employ to make the determination as to when marijuana should be used and when not. But it seems reasonable to me, and not at all unbiblical, that if marijuana can be used in some form and under the oversight of a physician to help those in extreme pain or those for whom all other medical remedies have proven ineffective, it should be allowed. I kn...

Marriage

What Is the Purpose of Covenant Marriage in the Bible? Jason Soroski jasonsoroski.wordpress.com 2020 13 Nov For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish...  We have heard these words repeated in many wedding ceremonies, and if you are married you have likely said them yourself! What does it mean to be in a covenant  marriage , and how does it enrich our lives and fulfill God’s purpose? Throughout history, there have been different cultural definitions of what constitutes a marriage. Yet, at the heart of biblical marriage is a covenant before God to cherish one another and continue to grow as one. At the heart of a covenant marriage is a desire to not just ‘get through’ life together but to thrive together. It means to love, encourage, and cherish one another while constantly seeking Christ in our relationship. The first mention of marriage in Scripture is in the Garden of Eden, recorded in  Genesis 2:24 : “ That i...

10 Things Christians Forget When They Leave Church Sunday Morning

10 Things Christians Forget When They Leave Church Sunday Morning Christianity has run into a problem. We have gotten into the habit of putting our spiritual lives into a box labeled “Sunday Mornings Only!” that gets put back on the shelf the second we get home from church. But we are not supposed to compartmentalize our lives into two different categories, “Jesus” and “Everything Else in Life.” Instead our relationship with Jesus should be the storage unit that holds everything else in place. Paul reminds us of this in Colossians 1:9-10 when he says, “We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way.” Notice how Paul’s prayer isn’t to live only Sundays that worthy of the Lord. That’d be too easy! Instead, we need to live all seven days with the patience, love, and joy that we do on Sundays. So, without further ado, here is my list ...

"If you take Romans 13 (and other scriptures) in Context: God did NOT choose Joe Biden. MAN choose Joe Biden (and will suffer the consequences of that choice.) God established 'AUTHORITIES" the office, the entities, etc. Not always a specific man. Man was given freedom to choose his leaders -God never forces compliance. Rather than God's leadership MAN sought a KING. So God gave man a king and said to follow his authority. 1 Samuel 12:11-13 Here's the good thing though, despite man's horrible choices, all through scripture, it can be seen, that GOD will bring GOOD from ALL -even man's most horrible choices. Allow God to move for GOOD. So, I put my Final TRUST in God. I will trust my leaders. But my FINAL TRUST shall be in God." Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -Pastor Gregg
